3 guys + 2 years = one long trip on bike

These guys are taking a trip. Not any old trip. This trip will take 2 years, and will take them from Alaska to the tip of South America. At this time they are 6 months into the ride. If these guys can do this, it makes my aspriations of a hike or climb that much more doable, by them trailing what seems soooo large it make what I may attempt smaller and manageable. Thank you to all the adventures, who have gone against the common wisdoms to do the impossible.

Sound and Fury

I just finished a docurama about how a device called cochlear implant is viewed within a family. is quite amazing to me. One brother talks about the deaf colture as if his child has an implant than his coulture will be devistated? I don't understand this point of view. The older child in the movie asked many time to hear. She mentioned the things that she wanted to hear. The tecnology is there for her to hear. But her parents were afraid that she would miss out on there way of life??? I sence that there fear is greater than a coulture... its fear for there child in a world that they don't understand For me there is one person, 50 year old women who never heard, and got the implant. Basicaly she said that if the tecnology is available than do it. She was full of life, not afraid! She said that she would stand on her head if that is what it took to understand what other people where saying! She was at 50 so much more full of life. If you haven't signed up for Netflix now is a good time (if you like movies) and check this move out.

Intersection for the Arts - Opening tonight

Art is something that can cross borders, it speaks the same language. This exibit address the language of Terror. Check it out Terror? is an international interdisciplinary project investigating how each one of us experiences fear and how it affects our lives. Join us for a very special opening on Monday, September 11 at 6pm, as we celebrate this ambitious international exhibition. Terror? includes hundreds of original works from all over the world - creating a cacophony of personal and collective response to some of the most immediate questions and issues of our times. What is terror? Who perpetrates it? How does fear control us, and the world around us? Who are we taught to be afraid of, why? What does fear cost? Where does personal fear intersect with larger societal and political messages of terror? In addition to an exhibition in our gallery, Terror? includes a film screening, readings, public discussions and performance. Gallery Hours: Wednesdays through Saturdays, 12 - 5pm, FREE Intersection for the Arts 446 Valencia Street (between 15 & 16) Mission District San Francisco, CA 94103 (415) 626-2787,
